The robe is beautifully lined throughout with pale pink organza creating a striking contrast against the black lace while maintaining modest coverage. The elegant V-neckline features scalloped lace that faces inward for a intricated, sophisticated look with showing skin underneath. Down the front, 7 gorgeous black round buttons — each sparkling with an embedded rhinestone center provide both functional closure and decorative drama.

Side slits suggest this robe was originally designed to accommodate a black satin ribbon allowing the wearer to tie a bow at the the waist in front for a flattering Old Hollywood back. A satin ribbon is shown for illustration but the ribbon is NOT included but could easily be sourced or replaced with any black satin ribbon from a fabric store.

This peignoir features an authentic International Ladies' Garment Workers' Union (ILGWU) label with "PAEF 728621" designation, confirming American union-made manufacturing from the 1950s -1960s era. This was the golden age of luxury loungewear and at-home entertaining fashion, when Hollywood starlets and sophisticated women embraced dramatic, elegant robes for glamorous evenings at home.

Size: No size - I wear a size 8 - 10  & closer to the size 10 & it fit me perfectly but would probably not fit a size larger than that but go by the measurements for a good fit

Condition: Excellent vintage condition. The black lace and pale pink organza lining remain beautiful with no stains, tears or discoloration. Tiny needle holes are visible on the inside back top lining where the manufacturer's tag was once attached —these are only visible upon close interior inspection and do not affect wear or appearance. (Photo) All rhinestone buttons are intact and sparkling beautifully as vintage rhinestones do! Ribbon belt not included.

We examine each item carefully and note any imperfections, but unless an item is said to be new, please don't expect it to be perfect & even some new items have small imperfections. I will always state in the description if there are any imperfections & I never do repairs but leave them to others who are better able to do them than me as that is not my expertise.

Please remember that unless specified all items have been used and will show varying signs of use or wear. We always list the obvious imperfections to the best of our abilities. However, some slight imperfections that will not show or affect wearing or using the item may slip by or not be considered worth mentioning.

Vintage nightgowns & peignoirs may be delicate so I do not wash them in the machine. I wash them in lukewarm water with Woolite or some other mild soap, then rinse & hang dripping wet in the shower.

Since these are vintage items, a bit of extra care needs to be taken with them so they remain beautiful & I definitely would never put a vintage nightgown or a peignoir in the dryer as it would ruin it.

The items are sold as we find them. We do not dry clean, launder, alter or repair vintage clothing and they should be cleaned or washed upon arrival. Please make your selection carefully & check the measurements as there is no return on clothing or other items.
