VINTAGE NEIMAN MARCUS SAPPHIRE BLUE SATINY QUILTED ROBE - HONG KONG - STEP-IN ZIP FRONT - LOUNGE ROBE

Vintage Neiman Marcus quilted lounge robe in a stunning shade of Sapphire. Made in Hong Kong, this elegant robe features a lustrous satiny fabric with beautifully detailed quilting throughout. The distinctive curved quilted yoke creates an eye-catching design across the front while the long, graceful silhouette gives the robe a sophisticated vintage look.

The robe closes with a 28" front zipper hidden beneath fabric covered snaps and a decorative Chinese love-knot button and loop closure at the neckline. Below the zipper, the front is sewn closed, creating a step-in style robe that drapes beautifully. Pockets on both sides in the seams.  The rich sapphire color has remarkable depth and sheen that is difficult to capture in photographs.

Condition is good vintage condition with a few minor issues, all located on the interior and not visible when worn. Approximately 4"" at the bottom of the zipper area needs to be secured with a few stitches. There is also about 7" of the interior hem lining that needs a few securing stitches. In addition, there is some wear to the inside hemline. These issues are confined to the interior and do not detract from the robe's lovely presentation. A dry cleaner or seamstress could easily address the stitching repairs if desired.

Size: Small - I wear a size 10 and it fit me but I could have used a little wiggle room so I would say it could possibly fit a size 6 or 8 but  please go by the measurements for a good fit and leave room for movement.

Condition: Very good vintage condition. The robe presents beautifully and retains its rich sapphire color and elegant quilted styling. There are a few minor issues on the interior, including approximately 4" at the lower zipper area (photo) that needs a few securing stitches, about 7" of interior hem lining (photo) that would benefit from a few stitches and some wear to the inside hemline. These issues are not visible when worn and could be easily addressed by a dry cleaner or seamstress if desired.

Care Instructions

We examine each item carefully and note any imperfections, but unless an item is said to be new, please don't expect it to be perfect & even some new items have small imperfections. I will always state in the description if there are any imperfections & I never do repairs but leave them to others who are better able to do them than me as that is not my expertise.

Please remember that unless specified all items have been used and will show varying signs of use or wear. We always list the obvious imperfections to the best of our abilities. However, some slight imperfections that will not show or affect wearing or using the item may slip by or not be considered worth mentioning.

Vintage nightgowns & peignoirs may be delicate so I do not wash them in the machine. I wash them in lukewarm water with Woolite or some other mild soap, then rinse & hang dripping wet in the shower.

Since these are vintage items, a bit of extra care needs to be taken with them so they remain beautiful & I definitely would never put a vintage nightgown or a peignoir in the dryer as it would ruin it.

The items are sold as we find them. We do not dry clean, launder, alter or repair vintage clothing and they should be cleaned or washed upon arrival. Please make your selection carefully & check the measurements as there is no return on clothing or other items.
