* RARE VINTAGE ANDREA ODICINI COUTURE - AMEN WARDY EVENING GOWN - MADE IN ITALY - METAL ZIPPER
An absolutely stunning rare, rare evening gown by Andrea Odicini Couture - Amen Wardy from Italy.
Andrea Odicini is considered by Italian women to be the equal to Valentino and by some, above. His exquisite evening gowns were very expensive and they were made with the finest fabrics with fabulous detailing. They were purchased by only the elite and he would choose who would buy one if his creations.
Over the years, I have been fortunate to obtain a pink goddess one-shoulder peignoir and nightgown set by him in addition to a gorgeous evening jacket.
This gorgeous evening gown is out of 100% silk in Apricot with some pink. There is beautiful draping on the bodice which overlaps and is caught with huge (about as big as a salad plate!) beaded encrusted flowers that measure 9” x 10”. A separate long drape is over the draped skirt on the evening gown for a dramatic look.
The ruched cummerbund comes around the side and the back and fastens with silk covered snaps under the large decoration. There is a wide belt inside the dress to pull you in which has hooks and eyes that fasten. Long metal zipper in the back. Long tapered sleeves which close with 3 self covered buttons and loops.
Little silk ribbon straps at the shoulders with snaps to hold your bra straps in place. French seams inside the evening gown so one’s skin will not get chaffed from raw seams. Lots of hand stitching on the evening gown. The evening gown is very heavy because the bodice and the skirt of the evening are out of double silk so the same silk on the outside of the gown is inside as well. Fabulous detailing!
Just a gorgeous and extremely rare evening gown by Odicini from the ‘60s.
By: Odicini Couture - Amen Wardy - Made in Italy
Size: European size 46 so please go by the measurements
Bust: 34 - 38 stretched tight
Hips: 52 stretched tight but you do not want to stretch it completely to the max as it is supposed to drape
Fabric: Very heavy 100% Silk
Care: Dry clean
Condition: Very good - hem line slightly faded but it is so far down no one could ever tell - light soiling on the hemline which a cleaning should remove - one end of the cummerbund needs some stitches to reattach more securely and the hems in the ends of the sleeves have come unsewn (cleaners can do this or it will take you 2 minutes if you do it) - store marking inside top of back neck that no one will see when wearing.

We examine each item carefully and note any imperfections, but unless an item is said to be new, please don't expect it to be perfect & even some new items have small imperfections. I will always state in the description if there are any imperfections & I never do repairs but leave them to others who are better able to do them than me as that is not my expertise.
Please remember that unless specified all items have been used and will show varying signs of use or wear. We always list the obvious imperfections to the best of our abilities. However, some slight imperfections that will not show or affect wearing or using the item may slip by or not be considered worth mentioning.
Vintage nightgowns & peignoirs may be delicate so I do not wash them in the machine. I wash them in lukewarm water with Woolite or some other mild soap, then rinse & hang dripping wet in the shower.
Since these are vintage items, a bit of extra care needs to be taken with them so they remain beautiful & I definitely would never put a vintage nightgown or a peignoir in the dryer as it would ruin it.
The items are sold as we find them. We do not dry clean, launder, alter or repair vintage clothing and they should be cleaned or washed upon arrival. Please make your selection carefully & check the measurements as there is no return on clothing or other items.
