VINTAGE 1960s RJ FLORIDA USA GOLD PURSE WITH LARGE TORTOISE COLORED HANDLES

A large vintage '60s gold purse with tortoise colored handles (maybe lucite considering the era?).   

It was made by JR Florida USA manufacturers who made tons of purses during the 1960s and 1970 and that was a very popular brand.

The handles are huge and just beautiful and I lightened one of the photos so the design inside the handles could be seen.  There is a zippered section in the center of the purse and either side is open for putting sunglasses and keys in the purse quickly.

On the inside back of one side, there is a flat plastic pocket which is a very good size which could be for your license or something similar to that or possibly a smaller cell phone.  There is a store mark on the pocket with maybe some lipstick mark or maybe the store did that.  I did not try to remove it as I normally leave vintage items the way I find them and let the new owner do what they want.

The exterior is like a light gold foil over the purse.  There are creases in the foil but they may have been there from the beginning.   The purse is not filled with anything so it goes in on one side but would probably fill out if the purse has as much as I carry in it like my own purse!

The purse is in good condition with some smaller imperfections like the one mentioned above.  The interior of the purse is clean as I look into the bottom.  The purse probably was not used much since it is so clean.  The lining is pulling away from the purse at the top about 1-1/4" which could be glued and it would be fine.  (Photo) There is some wear on the corners of the purse like most purses get with age.  But all in all, it is in very good condition.  The purse feels a bit stiff to me but it might have always been that way or because no one is using it a lot to break it in.  Little feet on the bottom to keep the bottom of the purse clean when putting it down.

The measurements of the purse are:
Across the top - 15"
Vertically:  9"
Width across the bottom: Nearly 4"
Handles: 7" high and nearly 6-1/4 across 

Pretty shade of gold and the handles are gorgeous!

Care Instructions

We examine each item carefully and note any imperfections, but unless an item is said to be new, please don't expect it to be perfect & even some new items have small imperfections. I will always state in the description if there are any imperfections & I never do repairs but leave them to others who are better able to do them than me as that is not my expertise.

Please remember that unless specified all items have been used and will show varying signs of use or wear. We always list the obvious imperfections to the best of our abilities. However, some slight imperfections that will not show or affect wearing or using the item may slip by or not be considered worth mentioning.

Vintage nightgowns & peignoirs may be delicate so I do not wash them in the machine. I wash them in lukewarm water with Woolite or some other mild soap, then rinse & hang dripping wet in the shower.

Since these are vintage items, a bit of extra care needs to be taken with them so they remain beautiful & I definitely would never put a vintage nightgown or a peignoir in the dryer as it would ruin it.

The items are sold as we find them. We do not dry clean, launder, alter or repair vintage clothing and they should be cleaned or washed upon arrival. Please make your selection carefully & check the measurements as there is no return on clothing or other items.
