I love these beaded & rhinestone vintage evening sweaters from the ‘50s/‘60s especially the ones made in hong kong as they were the most beautiful of all

Although this is from from my own personal collection, i have never worn the sweater but someone else has

These vintage sweaters are perfect for going out at night & dress up whatever outfit you are wearing - also nice when going out for dinner in the summer when the a/c is cool

Not only that but no one will have one like yours as it is totally unique & one-of-a-kind - the evening sweaters they make today most definitely do not compare with the vintage ones which are fabulous

The following information is from the vintage fashion guild site & my thanks to them:

“valentina ltd. Was a late-1950s to early-1970s knitwear company that was known for its lavishly beaded and decorated sweaters, dresses and evening wear. Their items were made in hong kong and were a very high quality.”

This lovely sweater is in shade of cream or light beige in the softest fabric of angora, nylon & lambs wool - the sweater is encrusted with hand beaded sparkling aurora borealis prong-set rhinestones, tiny elongated white & clear beads, pearls, sequins & other beading with some in the shape of large flowers - the heavy beading & rhinestones travels down the front of the sweater, around the neck & around to the back - there are also more tiny beads scattered over the rest of the sweater body - the sweater is full fashioned which is the best quality that you can get in a sweater - the sweater is heavy from all of the encrusted rhinestones & beading

There is a grograin ribbon down the inside front of both sides of the sweater for strength & ease of fastening the hooks & eyes for closure - the sweater is lined with a silky fabric except for the sleeves - the back is just as beautiful as the front & lavished with more beading & rhinestones especially at the neck area - also more beading on the ends of the sleeves

You will never see sweaters like this as manufactures will not spend the money or the time to make them

Just a very elegant vintage rhinestone & beaded evening sweater which will look gorgeous any time of the year whether for an evening out, vacation or a cruise when you want to look spectacular

Size: 40 but go by the measurements for a good fit
Bust: 43 - 46 stretched & bigger if left open
Shoulder to shoulder: cannot really measure because of the way the sleeves were put it but i am a size 10 & it fit me
Sleeve length from the neck: 27
Length: 24
Fabric: angora, nylon & lambs wool
Care: no tag but dry clean
Condition: some beads missing & some loose threads but the majority are intact & the few beads that may be missing will never be missed since are so many of them - 3-½” of neck lining need a few stitches to pull together - small dot of soiling on the front neck area - 1 tiny appx 1“ repair on the back of the sweater that i nearly missed because it blended in so well so no one else will notice it either - a triple pinhead hole on the lower back along with 3 pinhead holds under that - could be easily pulled together & no one would notice - stain on the inside lining underarm are with a slit in the fabric - can be pulled together with a few stitches - it sounds like a lot of imperfections but they are small ones & can either be fixed or not that noticeable especially at night - price has been adjusted greatly for the imperfections

Care Instructions

We examine each item carefully and note any imperfections, but unless an item is said to be new, please don't expect it to be perfect & even some new items have small imperfections. I will always state in the description if there are any imperfections & I never do repairs but leave them to others who are better able to do them than me as that is not my expertise.

Please remember that unless specified all items have been used and will show varying signs of use or wear. We always list the obvious imperfections to the best of our abilities. However, some slight imperfections that will not show or affect wearing or using the item may slip by or not be considered worth mentioning.

Vintage nightgowns & peignoirs may be delicate so I do not wash them in the machine. I wash them in lukewarm water with Woolite or some other mild soap, then rinse & hang dripping wet in the shower.

Since these are vintage items, a bit of extra care needs to be taken with them so they remain beautiful & I definitely would never put a vintage nightgown or a peignoir in the dryer as it would ruin it.

The items are sold as we find them. We do not dry clean, launder, alter or repair vintage clothing and they should be cleaned or washed upon arrival. Please make your selection carefully & check the measurements as there is no return on clothing or other items.
