VINTAGE ABALONE INLAY BRACELET MEXICO • 4 PANEL LINKS • OCEAN COLORS • SILVER TONE

$ 75.00

A beautiful vintage Mexican silver tone abalone inlay bracelet crafted in a striking geometric panel design. Each of the four links features shimmering abalone shell with deep greens, blues, and purples — the classic ocean‑iridescent palette that Mexican artisans are known for.

The colors shift gently depending on the surrounding light, sometimes showing rich, deeper tones and other times glowing with softer, more pastel iridescence, giving the bracelet a luminous, ever‑changing presence. The bold mid‑century look, clean rectangular links, and smooth silver‑tone finish highlight the natural beauty of the abalone, while the bracelet’s 7-½ "length and ⅞" width offer a striking yet wearable profile. The slide‑in clasp is marked MEXICO (hecho en Mexico) and each panel displays its own unique variation, adding depth and dimension to this timeless piece.

Condition:
This vintage bracelet shows normal age‑appropriate wear consistent with Mexican abalone pieces from this era. The top side is very pretty, with the abalone inlay displaying strong iridescence. There is some light surface scuffing from age and wear, and one link has a pinhead‑size, very shallow dent that is barely noticeable when worn. The underside is not finished to fine‑jewelry standards (typical for mid‑century Mexican artisan work), but it is smooth against the skin and structurally sound. The slide‑in clasp functions well; it simply needs to be aligned and inserted correctly in order to close securely, as is common with this style of clasp. Overall, this is a lovely vintage piece with beautiful abalone color play and gentle signs of age that do not detract from its appearance when worn.

Metal Note:
The clasp is stamped "Hecho Mexico" but does not carry a sterling mark. Many Mexican abalone pieces from this era were made in alpaca (nickel silver), a silver‑tone alloy. This bracelet appears consistent with that tradition.

Pricing Note:
Priced to reflect the quality of the abalone inlay, the mid‑century Mexican craftsmanship, and the bracelet’s overall condition. Pieces with strong color play and well‑preserved links are increasingly sought after, and this example offers beautiful presence with age‑appropriate wear.

Comparable Mexican abalone bracelets with strong color play and intact panel links routinely sell in the $60–$85 range, making this piece attractively priced for its craftsmanship and condition.

Care Instructions

We examine each item carefully and note any imperfections, but unless an item is said to be new, please don't expect it to be perfect & even some new items have small imperfections. I will always state in the description if there are any imperfections & I never do repairs but leave them to others who are better able to do them than me as that is not my expertise.

Please remember that unless specified all items have been used and will show varying signs of use or wear. We always list the obvious imperfections to the best of our abilities. However, some slight imperfections that will not show or affect wearing or using the item may slip by or not be considered worth mentioning.

Vintage nightgowns & peignoirs may be delicate so I do not wash them in the machine. I wash them in lukewarm water with Woolite or some other mild soap, then rinse & hang dripping wet in the shower.

Since these are vintage items, a bit of extra care needs to be taken with them so they remain beautiful & I definitely would never put a vintage nightgown or a peignoir in the dryer as it would ruin it.

The items are sold as we find them. We do not dry clean, launder, alter or repair vintage clothing and they should be cleaned or washed upon arrival. Please make your selection carefully & check the measurements as there is no return on clothing or other items.
