VINTAGE NIPON HEAVY BEADED DETAIL BLACK CREPE COCKTAIL DRESS WITH OPEN BACK VINTAGE DRESS EVENING DRESS CRUISE DRESS
$ 449.00
A gorgeous vintage Nipon designer cocktail dress for your next event. All eyes will be upon you with so many outstanding and elegant features. Love the beading on the dress and the bow over the cutout back is adorable and adds so much thought to the dress. You will look fabulous coming or going in this vintage cocktail dress.
The dress is in black crepe which is always a fabulous choice especially in vintage dresses. There are 3 heavy rope bands of dark gold and charcoal beaded shot surround the waist area. The long sleeves have more of the same. (Some of the photos have been lightened so the detail may be seen better.)
The back is spectacular with a bow at the top of separate upper part of the dress with a hook and eye as well as a snap. The back of the dress is over a silky lining which connects to the crepe skirt part of the dress and extends under the skirt as well. The bodice of the dress is a separate piece but still connected to the lining at the shoulder area. It has 3 hooks and eyes at the back of the top as well as 3 fabric covered snaps to close at the beaded area. The lining is under that and has a V back so the cutout back on the dress will be open over it. This sounds rather confusing and one almost has to see the dress to get the idea but a simplier way of describing the back is to say the top of the dress down to the beading area is almost like a "jacket" over the lining but still attached at the shoulder area so it is a dress not a jacket and dress. It was just the way it was made which was very unique. The dress has some weight to it because of all the beading.
The dress is beautifully made and a lot of thought was put into it. The beading is spectacular and so much more beautiful than beading in modern day dresses. It is no wonder the beading and construction of this cocktail dress is so fabulous - it was made in Hong Kong where so much of the beading and construction of fabulous clothes was made in yesteryears and still being made today.
You will look gorgeous for your next party, cruise or anytime you want to look fabulous!

Size: The tag says Size 8 but my mannequin is a Size 6 and it barely fit her. Measurements changed in approximately by the manufacturers for clothing and patterns in about the '70s and what was consider a size 14 sometime now measures like a size 8 so one has to go by the measurements of the garment and not the size tag to make sure the item will fit you.
My mannequin's measurements arelisted here so make sure in order for the dress to fit that you are a few inches SMALLER than the measurements of her are shown.
Bust: 34.2 Inches
Waist: 25.2 Inches
Hips: 35.7 Inches.
Approximate Measurements – This means the measurements of the item listed – not of your own figure. I measured the lining because the lining is small than the shell of the dress so go by those measurements.
You must be a few inches smaller than the measurements shown to leave room for movement.
Bust: 35 - 36
Waist: 28 - 29
Hips: 35
Length: 39 - 40
Fabric: Shell (outer part of the dress) is Crepe made from Acetate and Rayon. The lining is 100% silky rayon
Care: Dry clean
Condition: Very good - A couple of inches of the beaded braid (2nd row) in back need a couple of stitches to secure. - Easy fix or the cleaners can do it.

Care Instructions
We examine each item carefully and note any imperfections, but unless an item is said to be new, please don't expect it to be perfect & even some new items have small imperfections. I will always state in the description if there are any imperfections & I never do repairs but leave them to others who are better able to do them than me as that is not my expertise.
Please remember that unless specified all items have been used and will show varying signs of use or wear. We always list the obvious imperfections to the best of our abilities. However, some slight imperfections that will not show or affect wearing or using the item may slip by or not be considered worth mentioning.
Vintage nightgowns & peignoirs may be delicate so I do not wash them in the machine. I wash them in lukewarm water with Woolite or some other mild soap, then rinse & hang dripping wet in the shower.
Since these are vintage items, a bit of extra care needs to be taken with them so they remain beautiful & I definitely would never put a vintage nightgown or a peignoir in the dryer as it would ruin it.
The items are sold as we find them. We do not dry clean, launder, alter or repair vintage clothing and they should be cleaned or washed upon arrival. Please make your selection carefully & check the measurements as there is no return on clothing or other items.
