VINTAGE NEW WITH TAG LEONARDO GLASS & SILVERPLATED COASTER & CADDY SET MADE IN SHEFFIELD ENGLAND AND FRANCE

A vintage set of 6 Leonard scalloped glass coasters with a silverplated caddy to store them in!  Original tag is still on the caddy and it says"Leonard Silver (Sheffield) Ltd. Silver Plated Made in Sheffield England". Glass coasters were made in a glass company in France.

One of the glass coasters has a gold sticker on it which says "VMC Reims France." I looked this up on the internet and someone had mentioned that this glass was from a town in France called Reims.

VMC Glass was manufactured from the Verreries Mecaniques Champenoises glass company which was bought out by Owens-Illinois Glass Company in the 1990s. It subsequently went out of business in 2009.

On one of the coasters, it is engraved "Reimes" on the side rim of the glass coaster. I did not look at all of them to see if they all were engraved.

Height: Nearly 14-1/2
Across bottom: 3-5/8

Measurents of the coasters:
Diameter: 3-1/2

When growing up in the '60s so many people had these beautiful glass coasters in their home. So much more elegant and expensive looking than the cheaply made coasters in the stores now. I can see these under a icy glass of lemonade on the front porch when having company over on a lazy Sunday afternoon!
