*VINTAGE 1960s GIGI YOUNG SCARLET LACE COCKTAIL PARTY DRESS WITH METAL ZIPPER - PERFECT FOR VALENTINE'S DAY EVENING OR THE HOLIDAYS

"GiGi Young was a sister label to Suzy Perette. This label followed the same successful style formula of Suzy Perette designs, but were sold as a less expensive line. It was active from the late fifties to 1966."

A lovely vintage '60s lace cocktail party dress dress by GiGi Young in scarlet.

Intricate floral lace covers the entire dress with a matching taffeta lining. There are 3 rows of scarlet satin surrounding the midsection of the dress with bows accents. Full skirt for dancing a swirling around. Vintage pinked seams inside the lining. Long metal zipper in back with a hook and eye. 2 more sets of hooks & eyes at the back waist so the zipper will not show. International Ladies Garment Workers Union tag inside the lining as well as a cardboard like tag showing who the Presser was, Order No., Size, Style & Remarks.

The perfect feminine vintage scarlet dress for Valentine's Day evening out or for the holidays.

Size: No tag so go by the measurements for a good fit

Bust: 36 so leave some room for movement
Shoulder to shoulder in back: Cannot measure because of the way the sleeves were cut
Waist: 28 - leave room for movement as fabric will not stretch
Length: 43
Fabric: No tag but lace & what feels like taffeta for the lining
Care: No tag but dry clean
Condition: Very good for a vintage dress that is 57 years old or older - looks as though it has never been worn and if it were, it was not a lot.

However, some slight imperfections that will not show or affect wearing or using the item may slip by or not be considered worth mentioning.

Vintage nightgowns & peignoirs may be delicate so I do not wash them in the machine. I wash them in lukewarm water with Woolite or some other mild soap, then rinse & hang dripping wet in the shower.

Since these are vintage items, a bit of extra care needs to be taken with them so they remain beautiful & I definitely would never put a vintage nightgown or a peignoir in the dryer as it would ruin it.

The items are sold as we find them. We do not dry clean, launder, alter or repair vintage clothing and they should be cleaned or washed upon arrival. Please make your selection carefully & check the measurements as there is no return on clothing or other items.
