GORGEOUS VINTAGE 1980s JAYNA NEW YORK JACQUARD & SILK CHIFFON COCKTAIL DRESS PARTY DRESS DRAPED SWAGS WITH HUGE ARTIFICIAL FLOWER

You will look gorgeous wearing this vintage 1980s jacquard and silk chiffon draped swags cocktail party dress by Jayna - New York in fabulous shades of emerald green and hot pink in a floral design.

Not only are the colors stunning but the design is also as the dress is very detailed unlike dresses nowadays.  The fabric on the bodice is beautiful jacquard which shows another design when moved from side to side and the skirt is silk chiffon.  The jacquard fabric may be silk as well but I do not know for sure although when the dress was sold to me, the person said it was.  The slimming princess style bodice and back has a huge 6" shawl off the shoulder collar with a hook and eye in back.  There is a slight bit of enclosed elastic around the shoulder area on the inside of the collar to help keep the collar on the shoulders.

The lowered waistline skirt has a multitude of silk chiffon swags which are absolutely breathtaking as one does not see detailing like this anymore. The crowning glory on the dress is the 7-1/2" double petal silk flower with stemans at the hip line.  The dress is beautifully lined with an acetate-like fabric with no exposed seams except in the armholes so there are no seams to rub against one's body.  3" enclosed horsehair stiffener is enclosed inside the lining on the hemline of the skirt so it stands out and gives the dress a smooth hemline.  Invisible zipper in the back.  Light paper cardboard tag which says "Order - Style - Size - Remarks" as well as the International Ladies Garment Workers Union tag.

This would be a very striking dress to wear as a guest at a wedding, a party, a cruise or any other type of function when you want to look gorgeous!

Size: Says 6 on the cardboard tag but when I was a size 8 - 10, I tried it on and it nearly fit but go by the measurements for a good fit.  Never go by the size tag as the sizes have changed over the years.

Shoulder to shoulder:  Cannot really measure it that way because it is cut at angles at the top back but straight across the collar that will rest on one's shoulder, it measures 19-3/4
Waist:  30 - 31 stretched
Length from underarm: 28 - 29
Hips:  36
Fabric: Silk jacquard and chiffon with a silky acetate lining
Care: Dry clean
Condition: Very good - I purchased the dress for an affair but never wore it as I never went but someone else in the past possibly have worn it.

Care Instructions

We examine each item carefully and note any imperfections, but unless an item is said to be new, please don't expect it to be perfect & even some new items have small imperfections. I will always state in the description if there are any imperfections & I never do repairs but leave them to others who are better able to do them than me as that is not my expertise.

Please remember that unless specified all items have been used and will show varying signs of use or wear. We always list the obvious imperfections to the best of our abilities. However, some slight imperfections that will not show or affect wearing or using the item may slip by or not be considered worth mentioning.

Vintage nightgowns & peignoirs may be delicate so I do not wash them in the machine. I wash them in lukewarm water with Woolite or some other mild soap, then rinse & hang dripping wet in the shower.

Since these are vintage items, a bit of extra care needs to be taken with them so they remain beautiful & I definitely would never put a vintage nightgown or a peignoir in the dryer as it would ruin it.

The items are sold as we find them. We do not dry clean, launder, alter or repair vintage clothing and they should be cleaned or washed upon arrival. Please make your selection carefully & check the measurements. We hope you enjoy what you purchased but we know sometimes things do not fit quite as you would like or the color is wrong.  In that case, we do allow one exchange or a store credit on any item that you want. There are about 2,000 items in the store and more are being added all the time so you have a large selection to choose from.

You must email before returning an item so I can give you the information that you need to exchange the item.
