BONNIE BOERER & COMPANY 1980S BLACK RAMIE - COTTON SWEATER WITH GOLD KEY MOTIF AND SILVER STUDS

A striking vintage Bonnie Boerer & Company sweater from the 1980s done in a soft black ramie/cotton knit and covered in beautiful assorted large gold keys with silver studs sprinkled across the front, back and sleeves. The neckline is heavily embellished with a dramatic cluster of vintage‑style keys  and additional keys are scattered down the extra‑long body of the sweater and around the back neckline as well. It has that signature Bonnie Boerer artistic, whimsical look — bold, collectible, and instantly recognizable.

The sweater is marked a medium but it has a generous fit and will comfortably fit a larger size as well. I am 5'6", and the sweater came down past my hips giving it that long, tunic‑style silhouette Bonnie Boerer was known for in the 1980s. It also has the original 1980s shoulder pads which can be removed if you prefer a softer drape.

A true statement piece with wonderful vintage character — perfect for collectors, Bonnie Boerer fans, or anyone who loves unique 1980s artistic sweaters.

With Dropped Shoulders to shoulder:  25-1/2
Sleeve from neck to end:  With cuff turned up a bit 28-1/4  or with cuff down 29-1/2
Length:  28-1/2
Fabric: Ramie and cotton knit
Care: Turn inside out, hand wash and dry flat.
Condition: Very good - May not have been worn - Could have a key missing or 2 but I did not see but just in case I overlooked some!

Care Instructions

We examine each item carefully and note any imperfections, but unless an item is said to be new, please don't expect it to be perfect & even some new items have small imperfections. I will always state in the description if there are any imperfections & I never do repairs but leave them to others who are better able to do them than me as that is not my expertise.

Please remember that unless specified all items have been used and will show varying signs of use or wear. We always list the obvious imperfections to the best of our abilities. However, some slight imperfections that will not show or affect wearing or using the item may slip by or not be considered worth mentioning.

Vintage nightgowns & peignoirs may be delicate so I do not wash them in the machine. I wash them in lukewarm water with Woolite or some other mild soap, then rinse & hang dripping wet in the shower.

Since these are vintage items, a bit of extra care needs to be taken with them so they remain beautiful & I definitely would never put a vintage nightgown or a peignoir in the dryer as it would ruin it.

The items are sold as we find them. We do not dry clean, launder, alter or repair vintage clothing and they should be cleaned or washed upon arrival. Please make your selection carefully & check the measurements as there is no return on clothing or other items.
