*VINTAGE 1950s PINK & WHITE GINGHAM CHECK DRESS WITH MATCHING SWEATER SET
From my collection which I purchased a long time ago but never had the opportunity to wear although I am sure someone else did.
There are sewn-down pleats on the bodice along with flat crisscross flat braid decorating the top of the bodice. Wide straps. Metal side zipper. Pleats at the top of the skirt which go into a full skirt. Vintage pinked seams.
The matching sweater has a collar of the same pink & white check fabric as well as more on the lapels and inside facings. Tiny button & loop at the top for closure if you wish. There are two long strips of gingham on the outside of each side of the sweater with a cute little embroidered applique flower with leaves. Wonderful feel to the sweater!
Absolutlely just a darling 2-piece vintage dress and sweater ensemble!
Size: No tag so go by the measurements.
Approximate measurements which are the measurements of the garment not your actual measurements. Your measurements need to be a few inches less than the garment for ease in movement and breathing.
Dress: No tags
Hips: 41-1/2 allow room for movement
Fabric: Feels like all cotton or a cotton/poly blend - no tags
Sweater - I wear a size 10 and it fit me worn like a bolero - the sweater is not supposed to close in the front like a lot of sweaters - it is supposed to be worn open as shown in the photos more like a bolero so the matching dress can be seen under it
Size: No tag
Bust: all the way around 41 - 42
Shoulder to shoulder: Cannot measure because of the way the sweater sleeves are cut (raglan)
Condition: Very good - it looks as though the dress was worn quite a bit but not the sweater as it looks as though it was not worn much - hem on the dress was turned up 2-1/3" and it would be easy to take the thread out and return it to the original length if you need to -

We examine each item carefully and note any imperfections, but unless an item is said to be new, please don't expect it to be perfect & even some new items have small imperfections. I will always state in the description if there are any imperfections & I never do repairs but leave them to others who are better able to do them than me as that is not my expertise.
Please remember that unless specified all items have been used and will show varying signs of use or wear. We always list the obvious imperfections to the best of our abilities. However, some slight imperfections that will not show or affect wearing or using the item may slip by or not be considered worth mentioning.
Vintage nightgowns & peignoirs may be delicate so I do not wash them in the machine. I wash them in lukewarm water with Woolite or some other mild soap, then rinse & hang dripping wet in the shower.
Since these are vintage items, a bit of extra care needs to be taken with them so they remain beautiful & I definitely would never put a vintage nightgown or a peignoir in the dryer as it would ruin it.
The items are sold as we find them. We do not dry clean, launder, alter or repair vintage clothing and they should be cleaned or washed upon arrival. Please make your selection carefully & check the measurements as there is no return on clothing or other items.
