VINTAGE 1950s BLACK & IVORY LACE VOLUMINOUS NET PROM DRESS FORMAL WITH METAL ZIPPER
A beautiful color combination in this vintage 1950s black and ivory lace net ruffle formal prom dress with metal zipper.
There is a lace overlay over the taffeta sweetheart neckline lining. Stays in the lining to keep the dress up and smooth looking.
Voluminous black net skirt with large ivory lace "apron" over the netting. The lace dips down quite far on the front of the formal and is shorter in the back to show more netting. There are two layers of netting on the skirt with a black taffeta lining under them that so legs will not be scratched. Side metal zipper. Very full skirt.
Perfect for a '50s party or a dance.
By: No tag
Size: No tag but a very small size so go by the measurements because sizing has changed over the years. My model is a size 6 and I could not get the dress zipped up past the waist. This dress is for a very small person.
Approximate Measurements – This means the measurements of the item listed – not of your own figure. You must be a few inches smaller than the measurements shown.

Appx. Measurements of the dress
Bust: 30 - 32
Length: 49 - 50
Care: Dry clean
Fabric: No tag but net, lace and silky lining that feels like taffeta
Condition: Good vintage - Quite a few breaks in the lace (the back has more than the front) but lace is easy to fix. It just takes some time. Use a single color-matching thread and pull the breaks together. (The last 3 photos are of the back.) I have used this method on fixing lace on nightgowns and dresses and it works well. Some staining close to the arm area (shown in photos), some smaller ones on the skirt and some on the back but since the gown will be worn at night, it will not be noticeable. The netting on the skirt looks good. I did not see any rips in it but sometimes on black it is hard to tell but I went over it 3 times so hopefully, I did not miss anything. Price has been adjusted for the imperfections.

We examine each item carefully and note any imperfections, but unless an item is said to be new, please don't expect it to be perfect & even some new items have small imperfections. I will always state in the description if there are any imperfections & I never do repairs but leave them to others who are better able to do them than me as that is not my expertise.
Please remember that unless specified all items have been used and will show varying signs of use or wear. We always list the obvious imperfections to the best of our abilities. However, some slight imperfections that will not show or affect wearing or using the item may slip by or not be considered worth mentioning.
Vintage nightgowns & peignoirs may be delicate so I do not wash them in the machine. I wash them in lukewarm water with Woolite or some other mild soap, then rinse & hang dripping wet in the shower.
Since these are vintage items, a bit of extra care needs to be taken with them so they remain beautiful & I definitely would never put a vintage nightgown or a peignoir in the dryer as it would ruin it.
