*VINTAGE '40s TAFFETA WITH PEACH & BLACK LACE GRAND SWEEP EVENING GOWN WITH MATCHING BOLERO JACKET & METAL ZIPPER
$ 324.99 $ 399.99
A gorgeous vintage ’40s grand sweep taffeta and lace evening gown with a matching bolero jacket.
An adorable little bolero matching jacket comes with this lovely vintage dress. The evening dress is out of black taffeta and has 4 large tucks on the bodice for interest and because of the way they are sewn makes for a very unique short sleeve. Four tiny round taffeta covered buttons and taffeta loops for closure. Shoulder pads inside which can be snipped off if you wish but they do add form to the jacket and would probably be best if you left them.
The dress bodice has a light peach lining with black lace over the top for a fabulous illusion look. More ruffled lace surrounds the top of the bodice and travels around to the back. Boning in the back of the dress. Spaghetti straps. There is a metal zipper on the side. The circumference of the skirt is extra large at 273” or 22-¾ feet of swirling taffeta. Vintage pinked seams. Huge true bias-cut insert in skirt to give it all the fullness it has. It is over a full circle of taffeta in the skirt as shown in one of the photos.
A fabulous ‘40s evening gown and matching jacket for all those holiday and New Years parties when you want to look fabulous or for a cruise, for the mother of the bride or groom or any other formal affair.

A couple of small mends to the lace & some breaks in the lace but really not that noticeable. Some underarm stains on the inside of the lining which no one will ever see. Minor imperfections.
