VINTAGE BOMBSHELL SARONG SATIN BROCADE DRESS WITH MATCHING BOLERO JACKET IN MAI TAI PINK
I love this vintage bombshell satin brocade sarong dress with the matching bolero jacket in Mai Tai Pink!
It's in a beautiful shade of a rose pink which was very hard to capture in the photos. The fabric is a luscious smooth satin brocade adorned with large Asian medallions with multi-colored thread of emerald, black, purple deep pink and tangerine. The satin is gleaming and heavy.
The bolero jacket is lined with the same satin with no raw seams so if one were to turn the jacket inside out, the inside is as beautiful as the outside. 3/4 length sleeves. Lapels of the jacket can be left flat or turned up and both ways are shown in the photos. Turned-up cuffs on the sleeves.
The dress is full & meticulously lined with the bodice lined in the heavy satin with the skirt lined in a lighter fabric. Boning in the bodice of the dress to give one's shaping and no need to wear a bra. There is elastic ruching on the sides of the dress so it will adjust to one's body and be a good fit. Hand stitched back straps on the dress. Beautiful sarong skirt with one side overlapping the other with a satin tie on the side for interest.
Very sexy in a delicious color of Mai Tai Pink!
By: Custom made as there are no tags - probably made in Hong Kong
Size: No size tag as it was custom made but was made for a small person as my mannequin is a size 6 & I could not get the dress zipped up all the way.
Bust: The bust is hard to measure because it has raglan sleeves so there is no seam to start measuring from. I am a size 10 & I got the jacket so it should fit sizes smaller much better.
An appx measurement of the bust with the jacket left open as it is meant to be is 38
Sleeve from Neck: 22-3/4 with cuffs turned down
Shoulder to shoulder: 16-1/4
Bust: 30 - 33 stretched tight
Waist: 24 - 26 stretched tight
Hips: 37 but leave plenty of room for movement
Length from top of strap to longest point of hemline: 43
Length from underarm to hem: 32-1/2
Fabric: Satin brocade
Care: Dry clean
Condition: Very good
We examine each item carefully and note any imperfections, but unless an item is said to be new, please don't expect it to be perfect & even some new items have small imperfections. I will always state in the description if there are any imperfections & I never do repairs but leave them to others who are better able to do them than me as that is not my expertise.
Please remember that unless specified all items have been used and will show varying signs of use or wear. We always list the obvious imperfections to the best of our abilities. However, some slight imperfections that will not show or affect wearing or using the item may slip by or not be considered worth mentioning.
Vintage nightgowns & peignoirs may be delicate so I do not wash them in the machine. I wash them in lukewarm water with Woolite or some other mild soap, then rinse & hang dripping wet in the shower.
Since these are vintage items, a bit of extra care needs to be taken with them so they remain beautiful & I definitely would never put a vintage nightgown or a peignoir in the dryer as it would ruin it.
The items are sold as we find them. We do not dry clean, launder, alter or repair vintage clothing and they should be cleaned or washed upon arrival. Please make your selection carefully & check the measurements as there is no return on clothing or other items.
