VINTAGE JACK BRYAN SPARKLING IRIDESCENT RHINESTONE, PEARL & BEADED CHIFFON EVENING GOWN & BIAS-CUT FLOATING STOLE IN SEA SIREN
The evening gown is in a gorgeous color of green called sea siren - not a mint green nor a pistachio or lime but a lovely shade somewhere in between - the gown is out of a flowing sheer nylon chiffon over a rustley pale green taffeta lining - empire style encrusted with very heavy beading of huge iridescent sparkling vintage prong-set rhinestones, pale green pearls, silver shot & beading - the rhinestones in the center of the dress are huge & actually stick out from the dress as shown in one of the photos
Pleated bodice with high cut arms which are very slimming & flattering - on the sides & back, there are bead encrusted “holes” which have nude sheer fabric over another fabric & give the appearance of seeing skin although one does not - the lavish beading & rhinestones continues around to the back where there is a long zipper with a hook & thread eye - vintage pinked seams inside the bodice - lots of flowing sheer nylon chiffon in the bias-cut skirt which will swirl around you when walking
The evening gown comes with a sheer filmy “stole” which slips over the head & ties in a big bow in back - it starts under the bustline in front & gradually gets long in back - it is bias cut so it drapes beautifully as shown in the side photo of the gown & stole
A gorgeous vintage rhinestone, pearl & beaded evening gown by jack bryan which looks fantastic with or without the sheer stole
Absolutely gorgeous for a formal affair, an informal wedding, a cruise, mother of the bride or groom or any special event
By: jack bryan
Size: 6 but sizing has changed over the years so go by the measurements
Stole: from the top of the collar in front 14” & from the top of the bow in back to the hem 37”
Bust: 34 - 35 stretched tight
Waist: 28 with no give because of the heavy beading
Fabric: no tag but chiffon with a silky taffeta lining
Care: dry clean condition: very good - a couple of shot beads missing in back but
The otherwise the majority of the beads are there
The silver shot has darkened but that‘s what
Shot does when vintage & no one would ever notice
& it does not take away from the loveliness of the gown
Dime-size hole in the stole about 3“ from the
Bottom in back with a horizontal run next to it
It could either be sewn with a tiny piece of chiffon under it
Or shortened it & would probably not
Be noticeable when wearing as it is so far down
In back & falls into the folds
We examine each item carefully and note any imperfections, but unless an item is said to be new, please don't expect it to be perfect & even some new items have small imperfections. I will always state in the description if there are any imperfections & I never do repairs but leave them to others who are better able to do them than me as that is not my expertise.
Please remember that unless specified all items have been used and will show varying signs of use or wear. We always list the obvious imperfections to the best of our abilities. However, some slight imperfections that will not show or affect wearing or using the item may slip by or not be considered worth mentioning.
Vintage nightgowns & peignoirs may be delicate so I do not wash them in the machine. I wash them in lukewarm water with Woolite or some other mild soap, then rinse & hang dripping wet in the shower.
Since these are vintage items, a bit of extra care needs to be taken with them so they remain beautiful & I definitely would never put a vintage nightgown or a peignoir in the dryer as it would ruin it.
The items are sold as we find them. We do not dry clean, launder, alter or repair vintage clothing and they should be cleaned or washed upon arrival. Please make your selection carefully & check the measurements as there is no return on clothing or other items.
