VINTAGE GEORGE F. COUTURE FORTUNY-LOOK PLEATED EVENING GOWN IN PERIWINKLE

$ 99.99 $ 199.99

A very glamorous vintage pleated Fortuny-look George F. Couture evening gown in an divine shade of Periwinkle.  There is not a label on the evening gown but I bought this evening gown at the same store that I purchased the George F. Couture Sea Goddess evening gown and I have had George F. Courture evening gowns in the past and I know this is one as well.

This brand was sold only in very expensive & the finest stores such as I. Magnin, Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman & Saks Fifth Avenue

This elegant evening gown is composed of hundreds of tiny pleats with a lowered bodice which encircles one’s waist and will whittle it down to nothing.  The neckline and ends of the puff sleeves are heavily encrusted with gold shot, gold rounded beads, tiny periwinkle beads, sequins and gold braid for an opulent look.  The bodice of the dress is heavy from the beading.

A bodice is lined but the dress is so heavy with fabric, a lining in the skirt is not necessary.  The dress has shoulder pads for structure which can be removed if you wish.  There are hundreds of tiny pleats in the evening gown for a very glamorous look. There is an invisible zipper in the back plus a sturdy hook & eye. Ruffley lettuce leaf hem for a dazzling finish.

Just a lavish evening gown which would be perfect for the Christmas holidays, a formal affair, a cruise or mother of the bride or groom.  They just don’t make evening gowns like this anymore.

 Absolutely gorgeous!

 Care Instructions

We examine each item carefully and note any imperfections, but unless an item is said to be new, please don't expect it to be perfect & even some new items have small imperfections. I will always state in the description if there are any imperfections & I never do repairs but leave them to others who are better able to do them than me as that is not my expertise.

Please remember that unless specified all items have been used and will show varying signs of use or wear. We always list the obvious imperfections to the best of our abilities. However, some slight imperfections that will not show or affect wearing or using the item may slip by or not be considered worth mentioning.

Vintage nightgowns & peignoirs may be delicate so I do not wash them in the machine. I wash them in lukewarm water with Woolite or some other mild soap, then rinse & hang dripping wet in the shower.

Since these are vintage items, a bit of extra care needs to be taken with them so they remain beautiful & I definitely would never put a vintage nightgown or a peignoir in the dryer as it would ruin it.

The items are sold as we find them. We do not dry clean, launder, alter or repair vintage clothing and they should be cleaned or washed upon arrival. Please make your selection carefully & check the measurements as there is no return on clothing or other items.
