*VINTAGE MERLE NORMAN VELVETY DRESSING GOWN ROBE ADORNED WITH FLUFFY MARABOU IN RENAISSANCE BLUE

This lovely vintage dressing gown robe is from Merle Norman who founded Merle Norman Cosmetics in the late 1920s and her cosmetics are still widely sold today.  I have used her cosmetics since the '60s and they are wonderful. 

The dressing gown is adorned with fluffy dark blue and gray marabou with tinges of beige. The marabou could have possibly faded somewhat over the years but since I did not see the robe when it was new, I cannot say for sure.

The color is fabulous in a shade called Renaissance Blue.  The luxurious soft fabric is a velvety no pile velour.  There is a Mandarin collar with tubing inside to give it support and maintain the "rolled" collar look . There is an invisible over 25" zipper down the front.  2 pockets in the seams.  The dressing gown has a "Hollywood back" where the robe's tie is inside and comes out through slits on the side and ties in front.  This enables the back of the dressing gown to have fullness in the back and float freely thus giving it a beautiful look.

The 3/4 sleeves have two rows of fascinating marabou around the ends of each which move ever so beautifully with the slightest breeze. The marabou is decorated with two Renaissance Blue bows on each sleeve for a very feminine look.

A beautiful color vintage dressing gown robe adorned with fluffy marabou and bows!  Perfect for when one is a hostess and entertaining or just when you want to look glamorous!

Condition: Very good - marabou sheds so expect some to come off on the robe.

However, some slight imperfections that will not show or affect wearing or using the item may slip by or not be considered worth mentioning.

Vintage nightgowns & peignoirs may be delicate so I do not wash them in the machine. I wash them in lukewarm water with Woolite or some other mild soap, then rinse & hang dripping wet in the shower.

Since these are vintage items, a bit of extra care needs to be taken with them so they remain beautiful & I definitely would never put a vintage nightgown or a peignoir in the dryer as it would ruin it.

The items are sold as we find them. We do not dry clean, launder, alter or repair vintage clothing and they should be cleaned or washed upon arrival. Please make your selection carefully & check the measurements.
