VINTAGE MASON'S VISTA PINK / RED TRANSFER SET OF 32 PC. SET OF DISHES FOR 8 - MANY NEVER USED - MADE IN ENGLAND
A gorgeous set of vintage dishes with place settings for 8 in the beautiful Mason's Pink / Red Vista Transferware pattern Made in England. I have had this set for decades and have decided that someone else should enjoy it as my family not only has become smaller but we are all located in different states and never get together for the large family dinners we used to have many years ago.
The scene on the scalloped edge dishes shows a gentleman and a lady in front of a stately castle around a lake, tall trees, flowers, urns and statues. The wide border on the dishes are entwined leaves and vines in a pinkish burgundy shade with creamy white trim.
It is so nice to be able to purchase the whole set instead of trying to search out various pieces and add to your set in piecemeal. Maybe finding the piece you need and maybe not. This way it saves a lot of time and expense.
The ironstone set is in very good condition and I have only used 2 dinner plates and 2 salad plates on one occasion. Someone else could have used the dishes before me but I do not know. I can tell that some of the dishes have never been used and all are in a beautiful condition. I will list any small flaws below in each section of the set.
All measurements are approximate.
The set consists of:
Dinner Plates (8) - 10-15/8" diameter - I have had this set for literally decades and only used a couple of plates, I never noticed but 2 of the dinner plates are by Franciscan Pink Vista which matches the Mason's Pink Vista set. There were a couple of other companies that manufactured the Pink Vista pattern as well as Mason and one cannot tell the difference until you see the name on the back of the plates. The only difference is is that the Franciscan plate is just a fraction lighter in color but you cannot tell unless closely examining it and I certainly did not see it and I am very particular about items matching. (I have included a photo of a Mason plate with a Franciscan dinner plate side by side.) One of the Franciscan plates has a very small nick on an edge and is barely visible (Photo attached)
Salad/Dessert Plates (8) - 7-7/8" diameter
Cups (8) - 2-3/4" high and 3-1/2" diameter. Each cup holds 7 ounces to the top. 1 cup has a pinhead chip and a tiny bit of glaze off - no one would ever notice.
Saucers (8) - 5-3/4" diameter - 1 of the saucers does not have the indentation in the middle and is just a fraction smaller but I never noticed it until I was closely examining the set when I took the photos. Light crazing mostly on the underside of the saucers which no one is going to notice and it is to be expected and not surprising.from a set this old.
The condition of the set is very good with no cracks or crazing that I could see on the dinner plates, cups or salad plates except the few small imperfections mentioned above. Many of the items the set have never been used.
I will be adding a some of Mason Pink /Red Vista serving dishes in the near future.
I have a Churchill tea pot which goes very nicely with this set. See it in another listing.
So pretty with a lovely scene and would make a great addition to one's red transferware dishes or to own the Mason Pink Vista set that you always wanted. Perfect for a tea party or social event! You will get so many compliments from your guests when you use this beautiful vintage set.
The set will be packed very well and securely to prevent breakage.

We examine each item carefully and note any imperfections, but unless an item is said to be new, please don't expect it to be perfect & even some new items have small imperfections. I will always state in the description if there are any imperfections & I never do repairs but leave them to others who are better able to do them than me as that is not my expertise.
Please remember that unless specified all items have been used and will show varying signs of use or wear. We always list the obvious imperfections to the best of our abilities. However, some slight imperfections that will not show or affect wearing or using the item may slip by or not be considered worth mentioning.
Vintage nightgowns & peignoirs may be delicate so I do not wash them in the machine. I wash them in lukewarm water with Woolite or some other mild soap, then rinse & hang dripping wet in the shower.
Since these are vintage items, a bit of extra care needs to be taken with them so they remain beautiful & I definitely would never put a vintage nightgown or a peignoir in the dryer as it would ruin it.
The items are sold as we find them. We do not dry clean, launder, alter or repair vintage clothing and they should be cleaned or washed upon arrival.
