VINTAGE ADORABLE THERMOPLASTIC CELLULOID SCOTTY DOG PIN / BROOCH WITH RED POLKA DOT BOW
An adorable 1940s / 1950s theromoplastic celluloid little Scotty dog pin brooch with a cute red polka dot bow! This little guy is just the cutest little thing you can imagine!
He is wearing a blue little coat to keep him warm and his fur is in beige and pink. I had a difficult time trying to get the correct color of his fur. When it looked beige like it should look instead of yellow, the bow and sweater were faded looking. I came as close as I could to the color of the photos although they are not perfect and the colors are deeper. His fur is light beige and the sweater is blue and the bow is a brighter red than shown with white dots. The pin in real life is prettier than the photos show.
It measures 2-1/2" across and 1-3/4" at the highest point. On the clasp in back, it says "Occupied Japan." I looked this up on the internet and this is what I found from Kovals.com and Gotheborg.com and my thanks to them.
"Occupied Japan was printed on pottery, porcelain, toys, and other goods made during the American occupation of Japan after World War II, from 1947 to 1952. Collectors now search for these pieces. It was during this time that the Allies "occupied" Japan. The collectibility of Occupied Japan is that it covered a specific 6-7 year period in our history."
Very cute and in great condition. Perfect to wear on a suit, dress or coat.
Although the jewelry item looks large in the photos, please remember that jewelry photos are enlarged so the detail may be shown but flaws will appear larger as well so take that into consideration and check the measurements before purchasing.

We examine each item carefully and note any imperfections, but unless an item is said to be new, please don't expect it to be perfect & even some new items have small imperfections. I will always state in the description if there are any imperfections & I never do repairs but leave them to others who are better able to do them than me as that is not my expertise.
Please remember that unless specified all items have been used and will show varying signs of use or wear. We always list the obvious imperfections to the best of our abilities. However, some slight imperfections that will not show or affect wearing or using the item may slip by or not be considered worth mentioning.
Vintage nightgowns & peignoirs may be delicate so I do not wash them in the machine. I wash them in lukewarm water with Woolite or some other mild soap, then rinse & hang dripping wet in the shower.
Since these are vintage items, a bit of extra care needs to be taken with them so they remain beautiful & I definitely would never put a vintage nightgown or a peignoir in the dryer as it would ruin it.
