A gorgeous vintage 60's / 70's beautiful Haute Couture garden party floral dress in a sheer fabric by Place Vendome, a very expensive and luxurious shopping area known for Parisian elegance in Paris, France.

The colors are beautiful in the luscious silk dress in shades of Moss green and Mulberry.  The dress is exquisitely made as one would expect of a haute couture evening gown. There is a large collar on the front of the evening gown which is edged in a green shade of silk as well as lined with it.  The wide sheer sleeves are also edged in the moss green silk for contrast.

The back is beautiful with the long jabot edged with green like the ends of the sleeves.  Gathers fluffs of silk where shoulder pads normally are just to give a slight shape to the shoulders.  The dress has a moss green taffeta lining with spaghetti straps. Little loops on the lining straps are connected to the dress so there will not be the problem of "losing" a strap inside the dress which is so annoying.

There is an 18" zipper in the back lining and the silk dress back has 8 silk fabric covered snaps.  There is a "belt" on the inside lining which all expensive vintage evening gowns used to have used to pull in the waist a bit with a heavy duty hook and eye. Wide 3-1/2" horsehair enclosed in the hem of the lining to keep hem hem flat, stiff and give structure to the lining.  The finishing touch is the beautiful and feminine green lined edging and flounce at the bottom of the evening gown.

Perfect for a summer tea, a summer wedding, mother of the bride or groom or a garden party - so delicate and feminine.

By: Place Vendome Haute Couture
Size: No tag which is not uncommon for haute couture fashions because the items are not being mass produced so go by the measurements
Approximate Measurements – This means the measurements of the item listed – not of your own figure.  You must be a few inches smaller than the measurements shown.
Bust: 37 - I measured the lining as that is the smallest part of the dress.  Bust of the dress itself 38 - 40 stretched a bit.
Shoulder to shoulder:  15-3/4
Sleeve from neck: 28
Waist:  28 - 29 of the lining and 29 for the waist of the dress
Length: Lining from the straps to the hem 60 - 61.  Dress length from the shoulder to the hem 62 - 63
Fabric: No tag but silk
Care:  No tag but dry clean
Condition: Very good - a couple of the snaps on the back of the dress needs a few stitches to tighten it - the ends of the sleeves had thin elastic in them which need to be replaced and is an easy job - some fading on the bodice lining which no one will see - the top 4-1/2" of one shoulder of the silk fabric has come unsewn and needs to be pulled together - easy fix or the cleaners can do it

Care Instructions

We examine each item carefully and note any imperfections, but unless an item is said to be new, please don't expect it to be perfect & even some new items have small imperfections. I will always state in the description if there are any imperfections & I never do repairs but leave them to others who are better able to do them than me as that is not my expertise.

Please remember that unless specified all items have been used and will show varying signs of use or wear. We always list the obvious imperfections to the best of our abilities. However, some slight imperfections that will not show or affect wearing or using the item may slip by or not be considered worth mentioning.

Vintage nightgowns & peignoirs may be delicate so I do not wash them in the machine. I wash them in lukewarm water with Woolite or some other mild soap, then rinse & hang dripping wet in the shower.

Since these are vintage items, a bit of extra care needs to be taken with them so they remain beautiful & I definitely would never put a vintage nightgown or a peignoir in the dryer as it would ruin it.

The items are sold as we find them. We do not dry clean, launder, alter or repair vintage clothing and they should be cleaned or washed upon arrival. Please make your selection carefully & check the measurements as there is no return on clothing or other items.
