LAYAWAY IS AVAILABLE FOR THIS ITEM
Just an absolutely stunning vintage bridal trousseau dressing gown peignoir by Jonquil from Diane Samandi from Saks Fifth Avenue - NEW OLD STOCK with tag and in a hard to find LARGE SIZE. Also an extra bonus - it is MADE IN THE U.S.A.!
Jonquil peignoirs and nightgowns by Diane Samandi are extremely expensive and have sold at Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman, Nordstroms and other high-end stores and boutiques. Only the most fabulous imported laces and embellishments are used in Jonquil nightgowns and dressing gowns along with the finest fabrics available.
Although the photos of the dressing gown look white, this opulent dressing gown is in light ivory. The fabric is luxuriously smooth satin dripping with a bit deeper ivory Alenon lace which has cording tracing the lace pattern underneath. This type of lace was created in Alenon, France starting in the 16th century. If you love lace like I do, you will love this gorgeous dressing gown! The shawl collar has pearl studded lace which lays on top of satin quilted fabric and it is absolutely stunning. The faux pearls range in various sizes from miniature to medium to seed pearls. The workmanship and quality is just outstanding as one would expect from an exquisite item sold from Saks Fifth Avenue.
The mutton leg sleeves are absolutely magnificent and so unique on a dressing gown. They are softly pleated at the top of the sleeve which is covered by the huge shawl collar. Farther down on the sleeves there is a large insert of netting encrusted with more pearls and Alenon lace. Inside the dressing gown are 3 layers of sheer tulle puffs to give the leg of mutton sleeves shaping as well as satin covered shoulder pads. The shoulder pads can be removed if you wish but they help in adding shape to the sleeve.
The shawl collar is opulent with more lace and pearls and is oversized trimmed with more lace and pearls. The full skirt travels down to a "V" in front with with long satin ties to tie in a large bow. Satin small ties inside the peignoir for a good fit. Pockets in the side seams. The back of the peignoir is lowered and comes to a "V" as well and is trimmed with more lace. Under that the satin spills into a huge grand sweep which puddles into a pool of luscious satin.
This is without a doubt one of the most gorgeous satin dressing gown peignoirs that I have ever seen and I am really not in a hurry to sell it as I am still considering keeping it for myself as I doubt very much that I will never find a peignoir this beautiful again.
It would be gorgeous for a bride's trousseau or a special evening.
