*NEW WITH TAG - VINTAGE MADE IN ITALY 1980s SATIN & VELOUR WRAP ROBE IN RUBY - SIZE LARGE - WOULD MAKE A WONDERFUL BIRTHDAY OR CHRISTMAS PRESENT!
A vintage 1980’s velour wrap robe Made in Italy in a gorgeous shade of Ruby. This lovely robe was imported from Italy many years ago.
I have several robes and three outstanding peignoir and nightgown sets which I will be listing soon which came from an Italian importer who owned a boutique store in the New York area. All brand new OLD STOCK FROM THE ‘80S! And they are all stunning. Keep watching for them because I will be putting them on soon just in time for the holidays which will be here before you know it.
The velour fabric is very soft and the color is luscious. It is rare to find a robe like this in such a beautiful shade and this is one of my favorite colors.
The bodice and wide lapels are absolutely stunning with rippled gathered satin which travels down from the top of the collar to nearly the waist. Detailed curved stitching surrounding the ruffles on the shawl collar. More gathered satin adorns the ends of the sleeves. Inside ties for a good fit. Matching belt with loops. The long satin belt sometimes changes shades in various lighting but it is the one that was made by the manufacturer to go with the robe. One pocket in the side seam. Beautifully made in Italy!
I also have this same style robe in a beautiful Aquamarine in a Size Medium and another in a Size Large and possibly a Parisian Peach in a Size Extra Large which I will put on in a couple of weeks.
A beautiful rare color for the Fall and winter season in Ruby.

Size: Large or Italian Size 48 which a conversion chart says Size 48 is a US Size Large but go by the measurements for a good fit - I wear a Size 10 it and fit me perfectly and would fit smaller and maybe a bit larger. This may also fit a Size Medium but go by the measurements for a good fit. Measure a robe that you are now wearing and compare the measurements. If they are close, then it should fit.
Approximate Measurements – This means the measurements of the item listed –
not of your own figure. You must be a few inches smaller than the measurements shown.
Bust: 45 all the way around. It fit me and I am a Size 10.
Sleeve from neck to end of sleeve: 27 - 28
Length: 52 – I thought the length on this was very good for me and I am 5’ 6” as it was long enough on me when I tried it on for the listing. It came to my ankles but I did not step or trip on it going up the stairs which I have done with my longer robes.
Fabric: I cannot read Italian so I do not know the fabric content but it is very soft velour.
Care: Washable shown by the laundry tub icon on the robe
Condition: NEW OLD STOCK WITH TAG - there are some fold marks below the back of the robe under the belt and maybe some others plus some tiny pin pricks where pins were used to secure the robes in the gift box that they were in for the last 40 years (box not included) I tried to take a photo of it but it would not photograph because it blended in so well. It is hard to see unless you are very closely examining the robe and should come out over time and probably washing.

We examine each item carefully and note any imperfections, but unless an item is said to be new, please don't expect it to be perfect & even some new items have small imperfections. I will always state in the description if there are any imperfections & I never do repairs but leave them to others who are better able to do them than me as that is not my expertise.
Please remember that unless specified all items have been used and will show varying signs of use or wear. We always list the obvious imperfections to the best of our abilities. However, some slight imperfections that will not show or affect wearing or using the item may slip by or not be considered worth mentioning.
Vintage nightgowns & peignoirs may be delicate so I do not wash them in the machine. I wash them in lukewarm water with Woolite or some other mild soap, then rinse & hang dripping wet in the shower.
Since these are vintage items, a bit of extra care needs to be taken with them so they remain beautiful & I definitely would never put a vintage nightgown or a peignoir in the dryer as it would ruin it.
The items are sold as we find them. We do not dry clean, launder, alter or repair vintage clothing and they should be cleaned or washed upon arrival. Please make your selection carefully & check the measurements as there is no return on clothing or other items.
