*VERY RARE VINTAGE CHRISTIAN DIOR "LE CONNAISSEUR" FROM NEIMAN MARCUS SILK & HEAVY LACE BRIDAL TROUSSEAU PEIGNOIR & NIGHTGOWN SET

$ 1,200.00

An absolutely stunning vintage peignoir & nightgown set by Christian Dior from Neiman Marcus lavished profusely with lace - you know if this set came from Neiman Marcus , it is an excellent quality item as well as being expensive - the “Le Connaisseur” was introduced in 1987 & it was for people who had exquisite taste & could afford the very best

This lovely luxurious peignoir is made entirely out of imported heavy lace composed of rayon, nylon & a bit of wool - this is not your usual light-weight lace that one normally thinks of as it has a very heavy feel to it as though it has spandex in it although it does not say that

The peignoir has a wide shawl collar in front with lace appliques bordering it - there is a sheer nylon lining under the lace part of the collar - heavy braid trim surrounds the neckline & travels down the entire front of the peignoir & around the hemline - there are more lace appliques on the end of the sleeves - shoulder pads for shaping which could be removed if you wish - satin inside ties - there are loops on the sides but no belt but a satin ribbon would be nice but i actually prefer not to wear a belt with a peignoir & just let float over the gown which is much prettier

The matching nightgown has a bodice of the same ivory heavy lace - the lace has a lining of sheer nylon underneath it - large ivory appliques surround the neckline & back - more appliques under the ivory lace at the bustline with a silk pearl studded rose on the front - the color of the gown is a peachy pink with ivory lace - the ¾ sleeves are also lace with a sheer lining - the silk gown has a bias skirt with curved up sides trimmed with white lace

I just finished looking at what is now offered at Neiman, Saks & Bergdorf’s & none of the upscale stores have anything even close to something this beautiful & probably never will again as they just don‘t make such luxurious exquisite peignoir & gown sets like this one - just gorgeous

Care Instructions

We examine each item carefully and note any imperfections, but unless an item is said to be new, please don't expect it to be perfect & even some new items have small imperfections. I will always state in the description if there are any imperfections & I never do repairs but leave them to others who are better able to do them than me as that is not my expertise.

Please remember that unless specified all items have been used and will show varying signs of use or wear. We always list the obvious imperfections to the best of our abilities. However, some slight imperfections that will not show or affect wearing or using the item may slip by or not be considered worth mentioning.

Vintage nightgowns & peignoirs may be delicate so I do not wash them in the machine. I wash them in lukewarm water with Woolite or some other mild soap, then rinse & hang dripping wet in the shower.

Since these are vintage items, a bit of extra care needs to be taken with them so they remain beautiful & I definitely would never put a vintage nightgown or a peignoir in the dryer as it would ruin it.

The items are sold as we find them. We do not dry clean, launder, alter or repair vintage clothing and they should be cleaned or washed upon arrival. Please make your selection carefully & check the measurements as there is no return on clothing or other items.
