FABULOUS SOPHISTICATED VINTAGE I. MAGNIN BLACK & WHITE HOUNDSTOOTH ROBE WITH TASSEL BELT

I love this vintage robe sold at I. Magnin many decades ago.  If it came from I. Magnin not only was it very expensive but it is a quality item as well.

That was such a glamorous store located on Wilshire Boulevard in Los Angeles in the '60s and '70s.  I still remember the gorgeous black marble floors and the wonderful scents of expensive perfume when entering the store.  They also had a Charles of the Ritz beauty salon on one of the floors as I remember my mother getting her hair styled there many decades ago.

They had stunning and very expensive clothes and it was such a delight to look at them but rarely could afford to own one.  

This beautiful sophisticated robe is from I. Magnin in a black and white knit houndstooth pattern.  It is very warm and has a shawl collar trimmed with black satiny piping.  More piping around the turned up cuffs of the sleeves and down the front of the robe on both sides.  I tried this robe on and loved it and seriously considered keeping it but I do not have enough room in my closet even for the clothes I have now!

Satiny ties inside the robe for a secure fit.  Loop at the top inside so one can hook it on a hook in the bathroom when showering.   Cuffs on the sleeves trimmed with black satin.  Matching houndstooth belt lined with black satiny fabric on the underside.  Black silky tassel on the belt for extra glamour.

Just so warm and cozy and perfect for upcoming Fall and winter weather.

Size: Small but I normally wear a Size Large and this robe fit me.  I wear a size 10 and am 5' 6" it was a perfect fit for me but please go by the measurements for a good fit.

Bust: 44 all the way around but remember one side needs to go over the other side
Shoulder to shoulder: 16-1/4
Sleeve from neck: 27 - 28
Length:  Appx. 53
Fabric: Knitted in Taiwan
Care: Machine wash - Freshly laundered and ready to wear.  I do not think I would wash the belt with the tassels since the tassels may come apart or get tangled.  Tassels on robes are delicate and I do not recommend washing them.
Condition: Very good

However, some slight imperfections that will not show or affect wearing or using the item may slip by or not be considered worth mentioning.

Vintage nightgowns & peignoirs may be delicate so I do not wash them in the machine. I wash them in lukewarm water with Woolite or some other mild soap, then rinse & hang dripping wet in the shower.

Since these are vintage items, a bit of extra care needs to be taken with them so they remain beautiful & I definitely would never put a vintage nightgown or a peignoir in the dryer as it would ruin it.

The items are sold as we find them. We do not dry clean, launder, alter or repair vintage clothing and they should be cleaned or washed upon arrival. Please make your selection carefully & check the measurements.
